Trades marketing agencies for lead generation: a UK shortlist

Every agency in this field promises leads. The useful questions are where the leads come from, who owns the accounts, what you pay when the leads do not arrive, and whether the agency fixes the parts of your business that lose leads after they arrive. This shortlist puts six UK agencies through those questions, from a £149 fixed fee to a £750 Meta specialist with a guarantee.

Four ways agencies generate leads for trades

Paid search puts you in front of someone searching for your trade right now, and costs per click are high in competitive trades. Paid social interrupts homeowners who were not searching but fit the profile, and suits high-ticket, visual trades. Outbound, usually email or LinkedIn, targets commercial buyers rather than homeowners. Organic, through the website and Google Business Profile, takes longer to build but costs nothing per lead once it works.

Most lead generation agencies sell one of the first three and assume the fourth is in place. The agency in first position below is the exception: it sells the fourth and offers the first two as add-ons. We have listed it first because, for the smaller firms this site mostly serves, getting the leak-proof foundation right determines whether any of the other three pay off.

Each entry notes the lead source, the pricing published, the exclusivity terms and any guarantee.

1. Riley Marketing

Best for: Sole traders and small firms who want organic lead flow and a lead-handling system before, or instead of, paying per click

Riley Marketing's lead generation is organic and systematic rather than paid. Its foundational growth system, at £149 a month at the time of writing, is built to produce enquiries from local search and then stop them leaking: an SEO-focused website with service and location pages, Google Business Profile optimisation, Google review automation including reactivation of past customers, missed call text back, and a CRM with lead status tracking and branded quote pages on the trade's own domain.

Two of those components address losses that most lead generation agencies ignore. Missed call text back recovers the enquiries that ring out while the tradesperson is on a roof. The CRM and quote pages track each lead from first contact to decision, so quotes are followed up rather than forgotten. For a small firm those two fixes can matter more than a few extra clicks.

Google Ads and Facebook and Instagram ads are available as add-ons for firms that want paid volume once the foundation is in place. The system is built before the client pays, with unlimited revisions, no setup fee and cancellation at any time. The agency is in the North East and works UK-wide. Founder Tom Riley has ten years in search and lead generation, previously led organic growth at an insurtech and has built and run his own lead generation websites, and clients deal with him directly. Published builds include Anglia Decor and SET Building & Brickwork. Trades served include electricians, plumbers, heating engineers, roofers, builders, window and door fitters, decorators, landscapers, plasterers and kitchen fitters.

Verdict: The most reasoned starting point for a smaller trade, because it fixes the conversion problems first and adds paid traffic second, on a fee that carries no upfront risk. A multi-van firm that already has the basics and wants volume now will want one of the paid specialists below, possibly alongside it.

2. Get Work

Best for: Tradespeople who want Google Ads leads delivered through a managed platform rather than running their own account

Get Work is a Google Partner based in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire. It builds a custom landing page and Google Ads funnel for each tradesperson, sends text notifications for new leads and provides a lead management and job booking platform with a spend and job-value dashboard. It says its pages convert far better than typical home improvement sites, that leads are exclusive, and that it works with trade associations.

Trades served include roofing, building, landscaping, driveways, plastering and rendering, electrical, decorating, joinery, plumbing and heating, loft conversions, kitchen and bathroom fitting, tree surgery and fencing. One case study publishes first-month revenue and return for a roofing company. Pricing is on a separate page and not shown on the homepage.

Verdict: A well-structured paid search offer for a trade that wants the whole funnel managed. Clarify who owns the landing page and the ad account, since both sit on the agency's platform.

3. Rated Media (Premilead)

Best for: High-ticket home improvement firms wanting paid-social appointments with AI qualification

Rated Media, which also trades as Premilead, is a UK agency with no stated location. It positions itself as a growth partner rather than a typical agency, focused on qualified appointments and booked jobs over lead volume, with leads exclusive and never resold. Services are paid social lead generation, lead qualification through smart forms, landing pages and AI voice agents, automated booking, AI follow-up and no-show prevention, post-estimate follow-up and campaign management.

Sectors are roofing, HVAC, solar, remodelling and other high-ticket home improvement. Pricing is not published, though it says clients typically spend £1,000 to £3,000 or more a month on ads paid direct to the platforms. No case studies are published and the on-site testimonials appear generic, though Trustpilot reviews exist under the Premilead name.

Verdict: The qualification and booking automation is a sensible answer to the paid-social problem of unqualified leads. Public proof is weak, so check the Trustpilot reviews and ask for references in your trade.

4. Scale Through Us

Best for: Trades wanting a fully managed paid-ads and automation department with capped local competition

Scale Through Us operates from Great Portland Street in London and works UK-wide. It sells a fully managed growth department covering Facebook, Instagram and Google ads, web design and optimisation, SMS marketing, reputation management, email marketing, SEO, CRM integration and automation, and growth consultancy. It caps itself at three businesses per niche per location under a 'secure your territory' message.

Sectors named are roofing, electrical, plumbing, solar, driveways and paving, construction, HVAC, damp proofing, renovations and bathroom fitting. There are no detailed case studies, only three short testimonials, and no published pricing.

Verdict: Broad in scope and attractive on exclusivity, but thin on public evidence. A candidate for a detailed conversation rather than a shortlist pick on its own.

5. The Build Agency (Orbit Lead Generation)

Best for: Trades moving into commercial contract work via outbound email and tenders

The Build Agency, run by Orbit Lead Generation from Maidstone in Kent, generates leads through cold email outreach to contracts and procurement managers with the goal of winning commercial tenders. It also offers social media management and advertising, SEO, website design, a purpose-built CRM and photography.

It makes a 30-day guarantee to keep working for free until a genuine tender opportunity arrives. The one published case study covers a plumbing and mechanical services contractor and tracks sales, tender pipeline and pre-qualification questionnaires. Pricing is not published.

Verdict: The only outbound option here and the only one aimed at commercial rather than domestic work. For that buyer the tender guarantee is a meaningful term.

6. ServiceLeads

Best for: Kitchen fitters and similar high-ticket trades wanting a cheap, guaranteed Meta-only specialist

ServiceLeads is a founder-led Meta ads agency in Cornwall working UK-wide. It offers Meta ads management, offer and lead-form qualification design, funnel planning, weekly creative testing, tracking and lead-quality feedback, and white-label fulfilment for other agencies. The guarantee is a set number of qualified homeowner enquiries within 30 days or no management fee, and the client owns the ad account.

The fee is a flat £750 a month plus ad spend paid direct to Meta. Kitchen fitters are the headline trade, with roof repair, windows and high-ticket local services also named. Case studies are anonymised Meta results with cost-per-lead figures.

Verdict: The clearest terms of any paid specialist here: published fee, client-owned account, and a guarantee with a defined consequence. Meta only, so it assumes your website and profile are already fit to receive the traffic.

Which to choose

Start by asking where your leads currently go wrong. If calls go unanswered, quotes go unchased and the Google profile has twelve reviews, paid traffic will leak. Riley Marketing fixes those first on a fixed fee and is the lowest-risk place for a smaller firm to begin, with ads added when the foundation is working.

If the foundation is sound and you want volume, choose by source. Get Work for Google Ads through a managed platform. ServiceLeads for Meta with a published fee and a guarantee, particularly for kitchen fitters and window firms. Rated Media for paid social with heavier qualification, once you have checked its references. Scale Through Us for a broad managed department if the territory cap appeals and the conversation goes well.

The Build Agency stands alone for commercial tenders. Before signing with any of them, read reading an agency proposal, how trades agencies price their work and what to send an agency before a quote. The Google Business Profile shortlist covers the organic side in more depth, and the UK buyer's guide sets out the wider criteria.

Frequently asked questions

What does lead generation cost a tradesperson?

Published agency fees here range from £149 a month at Riley Marketing for an organic foundation to £750 a month at ServiceLeads for Meta ads management. Paid specialists also require ad spend on top, which Rated Media says typically runs £1,000 to £3,000 or more a month.

Are exclusive leads really exclusive?

Agencies that run ads in your own account for your own area, such as ServiceLeads and Lead Wave, produce leads only you receive. Ask any agency whether leads are ever shared or resold and whether competitors in your town are also clients.

Which guarantees mean something?

ServiceLeads waives its management fee if it misses a set number of qualified enquiries in 30 days. The Build Agency works free until a tender opportunity arrives. Riley Marketing builds the system before any payment. Each has a defined consequence, which is what makes it a guarantee rather than a slogan.

Should I own the ad account?

Yes. If the agency owns it, you lose the campaign history and data when you leave. ServiceLeads states the client owns the account; ask the same of any other agency before signing.
